Mission

As Production Staff Leader, you will report to the Production Manager of NLMK La Louvière's Hot Strip Mill.

Your main tasks will be :

• Manage manufacturing constraints (take care of the manufacturing flow).
• Coordinate and liaise between the day and shift teams.
• Facilitate and guarantee the application of manufacturing SOPs.

Main responsibilities

• Ensuring that weekly production targets are met in line with standards.
• To ensure that the production teams comply with the defined standards (safety, process, quality).
• To manage the production budget.
• Ensure personnel management (career management, training, recruitment).

Main activities

• Leading the team of production foremen.
• Participate in and/or lead projects in the hot train.
• Participate in the harmonisation of manufacturing practices.
• Monitor production indicators.
• Ensure that training courses are carried out.
• Steering the continuous improvement of maintenance activities carried out by manufacturing.
• Defining the strategy applied in degraded production modes.
• Formalise requests to maintenance (SAP/DMP sheet).
• Supervising the clocking-in and absence management.
• Carrying out annual performance reviews for production foremen.

Profile

Your profile

• You have a Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent through experience.
• You have been in a leadership position for 5 years.
• You have experience inindustry and/or with production structures.

Your skills

• Good operational leadership.
• Good written and verbal communication and listening skills.
• Good analytical skills (particularly the ability to identify faults and malfunctions in a system) and the ability to summarise.
• Proactive with a desire to learn and train.
• Good command of data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Minitab, etc.).
• Field-oriented, available and flexible.
• Autonomy and tenacity.
• Good command of French (minimum C1) and technical English (B2).

The environment

As Production Staff Leader, you will coordinate a team of 5 Production Foremen covering the entire Hot Train. In total, there are around sixty people in the production execution team. As production is continuous, the teams work on a day or shift basis.

Your role will therefore be to coordinate and facilitate activities linked to the execution of production. You will also lead subjects linked to the teams of production engineers who deal with the conceptual part and continuous improvement of productivity. You will also have extensive contact with other departments, particularly maintenance.

An historic plant in Wallonia, formerly Boël, NLMK is nonetheless a modern industry. The Hot Train at NLMK La Louvière benefited from an ambitious revamping that was completed in 2023. This production facility is the most modern in Central Europe and offers a stimulating playground.

Other projects are also under way to diversify steel supplies and even develop our own steelworks in Europe. Changes are underway to renew our business model, which is still viable today, in order to limit the impact of the cuts in Russian steel imports scheduled by the European authorities for the end of 2028.
