Function
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly financial reports (Budget vs. Actual, Forecast vs. Actual), developing reusable Excel models, and providing insights and comments on financial performance. This role also involves supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes, conducting cost control and profitability analyses and supporting the strategic financial model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Reporting:
- Prepare and update monthly financial reports, including Budget vs. Actual and Forecast vs. Actual to headquarters and local management.
- Develop and maintain reusable reporting models in Excel for efficient monthly reporting.
- Provide detailed commentary and insights on variances, highlighting key performance drivers and discrepancies.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all reports and maintain data integrity.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather input and validate assumptions for accurate projections.
- Monitor adherence to budgets and forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities to support the generation of corrective actions.
- Cost Control & Profitability Analysis:
- Conduct detailed analyses of costs, profitability, and performance metrics.
- Develop models and tools to support the evaluation of cost efficiency and profitability across different business segments.
- Work closely with the Controlling Manager and with the business to recommend strategies for cost optimization and margin improvement follow-up.
- Support of the Strategic model:
- Maintain and update the strategic model.
- Analyze long-term scenarios and their impact on key financial indicators.
- Collaborate with management by providing financial data that will support strategic decisions.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, including automation and optimization/simplification of Excel models.
- Collaborate with the IT team, PMO, Process transformation and other departments to implement efficient data collection and analysis systems.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis & Reporting:
- Provide ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as requested by management.
- Support the business in decision-making through the preparation of relevant and insightful analyses.
- Interact with Group Controlling:
- Coordinate and align financial reports and forecast with the group controlling team.
- Exchange information and data to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial metrics.
- Participate in discussions with group controlling to develop strategies.
Profile
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5-8 years of experience in a business analysis or financial controlling role.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Computer savvy and familiarity with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and business intelligence tools is desirable.
- Fluent in English and French.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Skilled in prepared professional PowerPoint reports and presenting financial results
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex formulas, pivot tables, and macros and Power BI and other analytics tools for data visualization and creation of interactive reports
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting findings clearly and effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
