Function

Mission

Under the responsibility of the Planning Manager, the scheduler (programmer) must forecast and ensure the scheduling of the hot rolling mill, as well as external shapers, according to customer deadlines, multiple programming rules, production planning and available products. He/she must also ensure the repatriation of raw materials (slabs) required to help meet customer deadlines and ensure continuous operation of the production line. Main responsibilities

  • Hot Mill Scheduling (HMS).
    • Verify current production programs and forecast programs to be created according to the established production plan and available products.
    • Create HMS operating programs according to the various programming rules.
    • Check that confirmed production schedules are visible to production line operators and, if necessary, contact the appropriate people to resolve any problems.
    • Program compliance performance management.
  • Scheduling of external shapers.
    • Creation and monitoring of manufacturing programs for external shapers.
    • Monitoring of shaper operations and adaptation of products to be shaped as required.
    • Monitoring of program compliance performance.
  • Repatriation of raw materials (slabs).
    • Define the need for repatriation of products (slabs) according to future programming and current stocks.
    • Place the order with the supplier using the various methods and products required.
    • Follow up orders and ensure that they comply with the initial request.
  • Continuous improvement.
    • Monitoring performance indicators relating to its activity (adherence rates, raw material stock levels, supplier compliance, stock quality, etc.).
    • Analyzing the causes of deviations from targets and implementing solutions.
    • Standardizing and documenting practices to make the process robust.

Profile

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Production Management, or related experience.
  • 2 years' experience in Supply Chain / Production / Logistics / Continuous Improvement.

Technical and human skills

  • French required, English a plus, as we work in an international environment.
  • Very comfortable with IT tools, especially Excel.
  • Very good analytical and organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Very good team spirit, as the job requires extensive cross-functional collaboration (Materials Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, Production, etc.).
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills.
