Function

Mission

The Automation Engineer reports to the Reliability Manager of NLMK La Louvière's Cold Rolling Mill. He/she is responsible for installation, maintenance, monitoring, PLC modifications and supervision in his/her area.

Main responsibilities

  • Carry out PLC and HMI modifications, ensure follow-up of modifications.
  • Analyze PLC failures in your area (understand the problem, identify root causes, propose and follow up action plan).
  • List, organize and monitor weekly and annual maintenance work.
  • Prepare internal and external work orders.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans, and draw up checklists.
  • Manage consumables and PLC spare parts.
  • Manage subcontracting teams.
  • Assist electrical teams with complex breakdowns.
  • Participate in an on-call role outside working hours.
  • Help improve equipment and work procedures (network architecture, passwords, etc.).
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects (6S, LOTO, etc.).
  • Participate in staff training (failure history, technical alerts, etc.).
  • Manage CAPEX projects in your area.
  • Ensure technology watch.
  • Manage equipment obsolescence.

Profile

Background

  • You have a degree in civil or industrial engineering with a focus on automation.
  • You have held a similar position for at least 2 years.

Compétences

  • Dialogue skills (listening and communication skills).
  • Team player with leadership skills.
  • Organized, efficient and able to prioritize.
  • Takes responsibility independently and makes decisions (from simple to complex) in all situations.
  • Knowledge of technical English (B2), fluent in French (C1).
