As we embark on a transformative journey, we are seeking a Strategic Project Manager to lead our efforts in developing climate-aligned steelmaking projects. As Strategic Project Mananger, you will report to the Strategy Director of NLMK Europe and foresees multi-dimensional interaction and work in flexible groups.

Main responsibilities

  • Take ownership of specific project streams within the European Steelmaking project, including:
    • Conducting competitive landscape analysis and future steel business models analysis (EAF, DRI-EAF, H2-DRI-EAF) with a focus on expected OPEX profitability for each model in connection with different regions.
    • Performing sensitivity analysis on key inputs (Metallics, electricity, CO2, etc.) for various business models.
    • Evaluating and comparing multiple technological solutions, locations, and business models, including risk analysis and expected profitability.
    • Developing a financing plan (debt, equity, grants, offtake agreements), including details of financing sources with key terms, projected financial close, and main steps to achieve it.
  • Lead the creation of the business plan for a new Steelmaking facility, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
  • Improve, support, and maintain the long-term financial model for NLMK Europe, including:
    • Aligning vision, key drivers, and main assumptions for each business unit.
    • Participating in the development of the 2030 strategy.
    • Supporting local sites in the development of prioritized projects.
    • Assisting the Strategy Director in asset management activities (spin-off, divestiture, merger & acquisition, etc.).
    • Align vision, key drivers & main assumptions for each business unit;
  • Handle ad hoc requests and non-standard projects effectively, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills.
  • Uphold company values of safety, people, teamwork, and technological development in all activities
  • Utilize Business Intelligence tools to deliver meaningful insights into competitive landscape analysis and support decision-making processes.

Profile

Experience:

  • From 5 years of successful experience in Controlling, FP&A, Strategy;
  • Experience in the preparation of consolidated financial statements is a plus;
  • Big 4 experience is a plus;
  • Motivation is a must.

Education, languages, hard skills:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field
  • Fluency in English (French or Russian is a plus)
  • Highly developed Excel, power point skills and modelling,
  • Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools and data visualization techniques, with a demonstrated ability to leverage technology to deliver meaningful insights and drive decision-making processes

Skills:

  • Solid analytical capability. Seeing the significant elements in a situation, gathering relevant data, reaching sound conclusions, using data and experience
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and make strategic recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop/maintain productive business relationships and cooperate in multifunctional and multicultural environments
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
